Flowing WOOD

Some would say that it is my Scottish thriftiness that makes me cut wood, into

few millimetre thin slices, often ,as appeals to me, cutting unconventionally across the grain.

Yet it is in this way, that the maximum of the trees hidden story is revealed.

Setting the resultant pieces in sequence, juxtaposed or matched, the final outcome ranges

from purely whimsical artefacts or sculpture, to functional objects.

In each I am seeking a point of balance where the wood, well worked and shaped,

is not subjugated, where the grain remains exuberant without being rustic.

Some work is usually available by arrangement at,

The Little Contemporary Wood Gallery,2 Stuart Street,  Ardersier, Inverness, Scotland.  tel:(UK)01667 462758
